I walked in the lost world, without peace
My soul without direction
I lived forgotten and unable by God
To find salvation there
It was Jesus, my loyal guide
Who dying on the cross bought me
I walked in the world wandering, pursuing
The Church of the Lord

I walked without mercy and without light
Mocking the people of God
Without seeing that He who died on the cross
Watched over His people
In Jesus I found salvation
His Grace rested upon me
He converted my vile heart
And saved me with His endless love

One day, something happened to me
A great light surrounded me
On the way to Damascus, my friends
Also saw the light of the Lord
And I, trembling, fell to the ground
A voice from heaven spoke to me
I knew that my heart
Was transformed by God's grace

The glorious voice I heard exhorted me
For my cruel heart
My sight, also at that moment, was blinded
I looked, no longer saw the light
And, guided, I arrived in Damascus
There I stayed without eating, without drinking
Just crying, at night I dreamed
Seeing a believer who appeared to me

After three days, a man arrived
For God had commanded him so
He asked to enter and spoke to me
Laying hands on me
And praying to Jesus for me
The Spirit of God sealed me
My soul received more light
Again, my eyes cleared

I give glory to God because I have already received
The water from the Source of good
I am happy, I met Jesus
For I know that He is coming very soon
Oh what joy, oh what divine peace
What a change, what transformation
