In München Steht Ein Hofbräuhaus
Tom Angelripper
In Munich, There's a Hofbräuhaus
Where the green Isar flows,
Where they greet you with a "Howdy,"
Lies my beautiful Munich town,
Like no other, it can be found.
Water is cheap, pure, and good,
But it thins out our blood, you know,
Golden wine is a prettier sight,
But the best thing is this delight:
[Refrain:]
In Munich, there's a Hofbräuhaus:
One, two, drink up!
So many barrels are flowing out:
One, two, drink up!
So many good men have shown:
One, two, drink up!
What they can really hold their own.
Early in the morning, he starts to play,
And late at night, he comes out to stay.
It's so nice at the Hofbräuhaus.
You don't drink beer from a glass,
Only the big stein, that's the class!
And when the first stein is done,
Reserl brings you another one.
Often at home, the wife gets a fright,
When her man stays out all night.
But the good neighbors all know,
They understand how it goes!
[Refrain:]
Though many a beautiful town
Has sights to see all around,
There's one thing you won't find near:
That's the Munich beer, oh dear.
Whoever thought up this little song
Must have had many nights long
Studying Munich's beer with cheer
And really giving it a good steer.
[Refrain:]
