Mourão da Porteira
Tonico e Tinoco
Fence Post of the Gate
At the left fence post of the gate
Where I found you to say goodbye
It's my last memory
It's a little verse I wrote on it
You, I know you pass by bumping into it
And the gate slams to warn
You don't remember what that sign is
And you don't even remember to look
Here so far away I pick up the guitar
I start to sing those verses
Longing is a pain that doesn't console
The more it hurts, the more we want to remember
You may not know what longing is
A memory you never felt
Because sometimes I want to forget
This desire wounded my heart
On the day your heart aches
From a longing that I felt so much
You pass by the fence post crying
And read the verses I wrote on it
