Goodbye my Rio Grande my beloved land
Blessed little land where I was born
Today so far away I don't think of anything
I only think of the gauchos I said goodbye to

I come from so far without knowing anything
Traveling on the roads and leaving the backcountry
Today in this land I have a comrade
Companions and friends of my heart

I left my land last year
I only brought with me a memory
Of the farm dance and the ranch hands
Of the barbecue and the grassland and the mate

Today in this land I live peacefully
I see the silver moonlight of this sky so blue
My land is far away in another state
But I live content, because everything is Brazil
