Risk
What a boring afternoon
So gray, I don’t feel like going out
It’s raining out there
Summer passed like a flash of light
Riding my bike
There’s nothing to do today
Nothing to listen to or watch
Just another afternoon
Fall arrived with its brown carpet
Laid out on the sidewalks
And the phone finally rings
Two friends and a plan for me
And also a friend who wants to come too
A game of Risk, trivia, a game of Parcheesi, I’ll conquer your country,
Loads of questions about you,
Mixing your pieces with mine
Under the table, sneaky your touches
A game of Risk, trivia, a game of Parcheesi, I’ll conquer your country,
Loads of questions about you,
Mixing your pieces with mine
Under the table, sneaky... touches
And that gray afternoon
Filled with color, we became friends
And we spent the winter asking
For goals, strategy, answers, and cheese
Then came the dates,
Parks, movies, hanging out as friends
And in spring I rolled my dice, they came up sixes
And we kissed
And now on afternoons like this we gather the four of us, calling ourselves friends just separated
And in no time we see them married
A game of Risk, trivia, a game of Parcheesi, I’ll conquer your country,
Loads of questions about you,
Mixing your pieces with mine
Under the table, sneaky your touches.
