De Este Lado
Traviezoz De La Zierra
From This Side
Here life is very heavy
And if time breaks down
If you don't work, you don't eat
It's really messed up here
They abuse you when they tie you up
Here you have no voice, no vote
They take advantage of us
Because we're like fish
They'll tell me why I cry
But it feels good to let it out
It's true, it's not as they paint it
Now that I live in the States
I realize it's tough and one falls for the trick
Living running from immigration
First you pay the Coyote
I remember well in the mountains
I got a good beating
But thanks to that man we managed to cross the border
Here life is different
As a child, I believed a thousand things
I thought that with a broom you could gather money
And if you have bad luck
You go up and down without money and without work
Almost, almost you turn back
Everything turned out to be false
I don't know what you think
On this side it's tough
Here if they catch you drunk
If they don't send you to the ranch
You end up in prison
The immigration officer
Doesn't beat around the bush either
They throw you in the chicken coops and then on a truck
They treat you like a thief and that's discrimination
