I Troldskog Faren Vild
Ulver
Lost in the Troll Forest
They waited for the fool's return
She was in the dark woods, lost
The snow's blankets had spread out
On the path home - her only leg
If only she could
Follow the stars' paths
She wouldn't lose her way
Among these dark grays
The forest's dark arms warmed over the strange guest
Made her aware of her deepest thoughts' sorrow
That in the mountain king's chamber thirsted for Christian blood
The underground beings:
It approaches quietly: A sorrow-clad girl
Sits inside with folded hands
She sends a prayer to the heavenly realm
Above her head
It drips from the branch
Drop by drop like blood
From the body of Jesus Christ
The girl:
Oh, sometimes in a gloomy forest
I feel that tonight
Tonight, they think of me
