La Gallina Ponedora
Valentín Elizalde
The Egg-Laying Hen
I have a loud-mouthed hen
That lays an egg every half hour
She lays one of gold, one of copper
How the poor thing does it, I don't know
I don't know, I don't know
That loud-mouthed little hen
Who doesn't need an incubator
Just by looking at a rooster, she's good to go
How the poor thing does it, I don't know
I don't know, I don't know
CHORUS:
That hen is a great egg-layer
And on top of that, she's very resourceful
She lays eggs fried and others in a tortilla
And if you edge her, even with ham
Even with ham, I don't know
That hen is worth more than gold
That's why I take care of her like a great treasure
If women were like her
How would the poor things do it, I don't know
I don't know, I don't know
CHORUS:
That hen is a great egg-layer
And on top of that, she's very resourceful
She lays eggs fried and others in a tortilla
And if you edge her, even with ham
Even with ham, I don't know
That hen is worth more than gold
That's why I take care of her like a great treasure
If women were like her
How would the poor things do it, I don't know
I don't know, I don't know
