O Sábio e o Tolo
Vanilda Bordieri
The Wise and the Foolish
Before Solomon two women were fighting
They were disputing a living child
But wisdom overcame the confusion
For the wise build and pacify the situation
Full of knowledge, the king put an end to the discussion
Bring me now my sword
Cut this child in half, was his decision
But one of the women was filled with compassion
She cried out to the king: Do not do this, I give up the child
The wise build, but the fool destroys
The wise understands, the fool argues
The wise pacifies any confusion
The fool insists on the argument
Who is wise prospers in all they do
While the fool only goes backwards
The wise builds their home on the rock
The fool tries to build on sand
The wise also reserves the oil
The fool only spends the oil they have
With wisdom problems are solved
Justice is done for those in need
If you want to be wise, ask for wisdom
The Lord will give it to you
Act with wisdom, if necessary give up
The Lord knows who the blessing belongs to
There's no need to create confusion
