I'm Getting Old
When I was a young lad
Everything was joy to me
I would go to the dance
And dance until the next day
Old age started creeping in
I lost my energy
I can no longer do
Certain good things I always did
I'm getting old, I'm getting weak
I'm not the same anymore, I'm turned to pieces
I'm more shriveled up than a cat in a bag
I was good wood that turned into wood chips
When I was a young lad
I was capable of everything
I did certain feats
That few people do today
Old age started creeping in
And I fell behind
Certain things I did
I can't do anymore, even with sympathy
I'm getting old, I'm getting weak
I'm not the same anymore, I'm turned to pieces
I'm more shriveled up than a cat in a bag
I was good wood that turned into wood chips
When I was a young lad
I was a very brave man
Old age started creeping in
I ended up lower
I used to win fights with bulls
Now I get beaten even by a kid
And they said, and I agree
That I'm a banana tree that doesn't bear fruit anymore
I'm getting old, I'm getting weak
I'm not the same anymore, I'm turned to pieces
I'm more shriveled up than a cat in a bag
I was good wood that turned into wood chips
