El Hijo Del Pueblo
Vicente Fernández
The Son of the People
It's my pride to have been born in the humblest neighborhood
Away from the hustle and bustle and false society
I am not unfortunate to not be a son of the people
I count myself among the people who have no falsehood
My destiny is very even, I want it as it comes
Enduring sadness or chasing an illusion
I walk through life, very happy with my poverty
Because I don't have money, I have a lot of heart
Descendant of the Mexican Cuatemo, fortunately unfortunate
In love, I am a drunkard and troubadour
But how many millionaires would want to live my life
To sing to poverty without feeling any pain
That's why I'm proud to be from the humblest neighborhood
Away from the hustle and bustle and false society
I compose my songs for the people to sing them
And the day the people fail me, that day I will cry
