Juan Charrasqueado
Vicente Fernández
Juan Charrasqueado
I'm going to sing a very famous corrido
What happened over there at the hacienda de la flor
The sad story of a rancher in love
Who was a drunkard, partygoer, and gambler
His name was Juan and they called him Charrasqueado
He was brave and daring in love
He would take the most beautiful women
Leaving no flower in those fields
One Sunday while he was getting drunk
They ran to warn him at the cantina
Be careful Juan, they're looking for you around there
There are many men, they might kill you
He didn't have time to mount his horse
With a gun in hand, they came at him in a group
And he shouted, 'I'm drunk and I'm a good rooster'
When a bullet pierced his heart
The cornfield grew with the rain in the pasture
And the doves fly to the rocky ground
Beautiful bulls are taken to the slaughterhouse today
The foreman rides a good horse
The bells of the sanctuary are tolling
All the faithful are heading to pray
And through the mountains, the ranchers are coming down
To bury a dead man they're carrying
In a very humble hut, a child cries
The women advise him and leave
While his mother consoles him with affection
Looking at the sky, she cries and prays for her Juan
Here I finish singing this corrido
About Juan the rancher, Charrasqueado, and joker
Who thought he was favored by women
And was a drunkard, partygoer, and gambler
