La Ley de La Vida
Vicente Fernández
The Law of Life
You’re worth what you own
Unfortunately, that’s the law of life
They’ll give you gifts if you’ve got cash
You show up with a horse, they’ll offer you a saddle
To do you a favor, they’ll sort you out
They’ll measure you up first
No one sells a good horse
Nor do they get rich by staying poor
Those who covet what’s not theirs
And it’s the same in love, you know
When you let something bad come your way
Because nobody likes betrayal
You can believe me, I feel your pain
Even if my sympathy doesn’t help you
I can give you a few coins
But I can’t fix your bitterness
And you can go wherever you want
Because in the end, your life is yours
I once predicted your fate
And I just said it as a joke
And it seems I’m a fortune teller
Everything turned out just as drawn
You never married me
And I don’t think you’ll die married
You can believe me, I feel your pain
Even if my sympathy doesn’t help you
I can give you a few coins
But I can’t fix your bitterness
And you can go wherever you want
Because in the end, your life is yours
