Grandma Mission

Grandma mission... may God bless me
My grandma, my grandma, my grandma, and in Spanish.
Let me tell you, so you see, I'm not going to talk about work or school,
Although that's all good and I know that, I want you to know my stuff so you see what's worse.
I arrived from New York at the beginning of summer,
And I wanted to stay at my brother's house
And he said, 'brother, you can't stay here'
And he took me with all my stuff to grandma's house...
Oh, what a pain, what a poor vacation my brother gave me
What kind of pants...

I followed my grandma and she dropped a load on me
To clean the yard and paint the kitchen.
I told her, 'ma'am, I came to rest'
And she said, 'no, son, you come here to work,
Really, you're bad, I don't know why you complain
Shave that beard and cut your hair for me...'
Oh grandma, I'll shave the beard
But I won't cut my hair, I'd rather be dead,
I explained that it's trendy to grow out your hair
And she said, 'you know you look like a girl,
Since I didn't cut it, she waited for me to fall asleep
And she left me bald with a pair of scissors
What a thing, what a mess, what will they say when they see me

Another day for lunch my grandma told me
She was going to cook whatever I wanted
So I asked for a good meal
A hamburger, a hot dog, what I eat every day
No, no, no, not at all, I don't cook junk
Here we eat viands and rice with beans,

My grandma, my grandma, my grandma,
Here we eat viands, here we eat viands...

A few days passed, I met her neighbor
And she had a daughter who was really hot
Now, I said to myself and I started to rap to her
Without my grandma knowing
But she found out and gave me a sermon,
Respect that girl
I told her, 'grandma, you're meddling
And she slapped me so hard it still hurts

What a thing, you can't do that,
What will they say about me when they find out
That another night I wanted to go out
And she said no, these are sleeping hours
And so I spent my Thursday
Everyone partying and I was in bed by nine

A few days passed without bothering me
Because she lost her dentures box
And even though she seemed to scold me
Nothing she said was understandable
So I could rest,
But my vacation was coming to an end
And since I couldn't think of anything else to do
I pretended a pain was killing me
To see if they would hospitalize me
And then I could easily escape from there...
But the tables turned on me
Because she started giving me medicine
And forced me to stay in bed
Until she thought I had recovered

My grandma, my grandma, my grandma,
And rice with beans, oh boy!!

And just like that, a problem I had soon
Seven days a week if not every day
But I found the solution to all my problems
And that is I have to accept that I am my grandma's grandson
Not to mention that after so much complaining
When I got back to New York, I regretted
That she's not what she seems, she's really good
And everything she does is to embarrass me
But I remembered all the scolding she gave me
And every time I wanted to drink rum
And she had me prepare a lemon tea
My mother didn't know how I had spent my time
She thought I had enjoyed it all
And dared to ask when I was coming back there
And I told her, 'girl, in about thirty more years...'
I don't know if my grandma has a lot of endurance
Or I can't stand her because I have no patience

My grandma, my grandma, my grandma, my grandma
My grandma, my grandma, my grandma, my grandma
My grandma, my grandma, my grandma, my grandma
