Canto Al Silencio
Victor Manuel
Song to the Silence
I was happy in the life of being free like the wind
My heart thought silence didn’t exist
I crossed the cities looking for new paths
And I didn’t want roots or ties around my neck.
But suddenly I noticed one night
A great emptiness on my fingers
I searched for affection, I searched for smiles
Some friend, some comfort
And then I saw that I’m alone, wrapped in my silence.
I didn’t think about life, that time was running
My heart thought it would never grow old
I didn’t want to harvest, I crossed other people’s fields
And I flew over the world without stopping for a moment.
