Cruzar Los Brazos
Victor Manuel
Crossing Arms
That someone thinks you're wrong
That you may seem like a weirdo to them
That's not bad.
If it bothers you that an expert in bombings
Explains it to you and you don't understand the game
Raise your finger.
You who don't know how far away that star is
Galaxies don't stimulate you, don't interest you
It's not your war.
But you think those months are stolen,
The ones that make you serve as a soldier
Are so long.
If you're willing to give a good middle finger
To whoever orders you to conquer that beach,
To build a bridge, corner some neighbor
In case the enemy attacks.
If the danger is being called a bad patriot
By those who always mess things up
What a glory.
Here I am, captive, alone and unarmed
There's no better defense than crossing arms
Moving on.
Maybe tomorrow there won't be anything spitting fire
And we'll hang the one who invents the slingshot.
We'll rest our misery in a thick broth,
Perhaps that day we'll all be fools or blind.
Here I am, captive, alone and unarmed
There's no better defense than crossing arms
Moving on.
