Por La Luz de Tus Labios
Victor Manuel
By The Light of Your Lips
By the light of your lips one could be dying
By your body filled with secret gardens,
Burning, endless, illuminated and so true
That I spend winters sheltered in its harbor.
By your five senses one could be dying
The path by your side is always new to me.
I don't know what to call this law that I have
That barely fits inside my skeleton.
For your mast, sail
The air helps us navigate.
For my push, bow
I soothe the wounds in your salt.
For dreams, waves
How nice to go forward and backward.
Like in the seashell
The sea lives next to your chest.
Since I met you, I haven't changed owners
I am a naked tree, warming up in your sun
Don't ask me to bring down a star from the sky
I never go for nothing but you know I can.
I always feel by your side that time
Even if I clench my fists, it slips through my fingers
Among the crowds, I can even hear the echo
Of your steps in the sand crossing the desert.
By the light of your lips one could be dying...
