Samba Enredo 1987 - Roots
Vila Isabel, embodied by Maíra
Transforms into the supreme god
Of the root peoples
Of the Kaapor land
The god lived in the mountains
And made children from the ground
But only gave life to one
In the temple of Maíra
Seven stone goddesses
But life only for one
Destined to Arapiá
Cherub Tapixi kept the goddess for himself
Dreaming of knowing nature
So he fled
From the mountains, seeking emotions
And met the mother of fishes, Numiá
For her, Arapiá felt passion
And four children Numiá bore
Summer, heat, and light
Autumn, plenty
Winter, cold beauty (repeat)
Spring, colors and flowers
To adorn paradise
But the fight erupted between the two lovers
For universal power
Grandpa Maíra interfered in the fight
And threw the two into the air
So they could never engage in the sky
Arapiá, Guaraci, fireball
And Numiá, Jaci, silver ball (repeat)
And made the four grandchildren, masterful rulers
Thus, the seasons of the years emerged
Vila Isabel...
