Sabe Você
Vinicius de Moraes
You Know
You are much more than I am
You are much richer than I am
But what I know, you don't know
And before your power runs out
I will show how and why
I know, I know more than you
Do you know what love is? You don't know, I know
Do you know what a troubadour is? You don't know, I know
Do you know how to walk in the early morning holding your beloved's hand?
Do you know how to love, what you know nothing about, you don't know
Do you know what a flower is? You don't know, I know
Have you ever cried in pain? Well, I have cried
I have cried from love sickness, I have cried from compassion
As for you, my friend, what's up, you haven't cried
And that's why I tell you, and rightly so
That it's better to be a beggar than a thief
I know that one day will come, whenever it may be
When you, to beg, only love will do
You can be a thief whenever you want
But you won't steal a woman's heart
You have no joy, you've never written a song
That's why my poetry, ah, ah, you can't steal
