Soneto de Fidelidade
Vinicius de Moraes
Sonnet of Fidelity
Of everything, to my love I will be attentive
Before, and with such care, and always, and so much
That even in the face of the greatest charm
My thoughts are even more enchanted by him
I want to live it in every fleeting moment
And in his praise I will spread my song
And laugh my laughter and shed my tears
In his sorrow or his joy
And so, when later on I seek myself
Who knows death, anguish of the living
Who knows loneliness, end of the lover
I can say of the love (I had)
That it may not be immortal, since it is a flame
But that it may be infinite while it lasts
