São Demais Os Perigos Desta Vida (Soneto do Corifeu)
Vinicius de Moraes
The Dangers of This Life Are Too Much (Sonnet of the Chorus Leader)
The dangers of this life are too much
For those who have passion especially
When a moon arrives suddenly
And leaves itself in the sky, as if forgotten
And if by the moonlight that acts wildly
A random music joins
Then one must be careful
Because a woman must be nearby
A woman must be nearby who is made
Of music, moonlight, and feeling
And who does not want life to be so perfect
A woman who is like the moon itself:
So beautiful that only spreads suffering
So full of modesty that lives naked
