Poema Enjoadinho
Vinicius de Moraes
Annoying Poem
Children, children?
Better not have them!
But if we don't have them
How do we know them?
If we don't have them
What a consultation
How much silence
How we want them!
Sea bath
Says it's a club
Spouse flies
Crosses space
Swallows water
Gets salty
Iodizes
Then, how good
How tan
How the wife looks!
Result: child
And then it begins
The annoyance:
Poop is white
Poop is black
Drinks ammonia
Ate a button.
Children? Children
Better not have them
Nights of insomnia
Premature gray hairs
Convulsive sobs
My God, save us!
Children are a pain
Better not have them
But if we don't have them
How do we know them?
How to know
The softness
In their hair
The warm smell
In their flesh
The sweet taste
In their mouth!
They suck razor blades
Drink shampoo
Set fire
To the block
However, what a thing
What a crazy thing
What a beautiful thing
That children are!
