Pequena Alma

Little Soul
Santa Teresa, how much purity
Among the decisions my calling is to love
Let roses rain down on Earth
A grace achieved by all who find it
Still very young, she lost her mother
Then was raised by her father, her sisters
Always very loved by all around her
But she didn't know the extent of God's purpose
Her older sister, who was like a mother to her
Decided to join the Carmelites
Teresa, sad with this decision
Became very ill, fell into depression
And one night, crying alone in her room
She saw something different in the image of Mary
She saw her healing
The image smiled
Santa Teresa, how much purity
Among the decisions my calling is to love
Let roses rain down on Earth
A grace achieved by all who find it
With the dream of changing humanity
She couldn't become a nun due to her young age
After receiving many rejections from the pope
She became a cloistered nun
Her whole life was dedicated to prayer
Always serving and praying for every generation
Her life was short but very strong
She is venerated to this day
And on her deathbed
Even then, out of love
Quite the opposite, she set aside the pain
Saying, I surrender my little soul to my Love
Santa Teresa, how much purity
Among the decisions my calling is to love
Let roses rain down on Earth
A grace achieved by all who find it
