Pambe

Pambe
I'm gonna tell a story about a hero I know
We all felt the thrill, and the memories still glow
I saw him on TV in the early morning light
With the innocence of a kid throwing punches in a fight
People call him Pambe, he was pure joy
And the hope of a town that had nothing to enjoy
The tricolor on his legs, standing strong and proud
And in those iron fists, there's something that’s loud
There’s the warmth of the homeland, the chill of the glory
Of everything you gave us, I’ll never forget the story
And even from afar, I remember him shout your name
Close to God, so empty, so far from the game
And he fought and he believed, he dreamed and he won, that’s why
And they bought him and deceived him
And he was just a kid, and they took advantage of him
And he fought and he won, he got brave and jumped in
And he pushed and he let go
He was grown up and didn’t care anymore
And today life puts us up against the ropes
If I fall, I’m sure I’ll lose count of my hopes
Nothing could ever conquer his heart.
