O Filho Pródigo
Voz da Verdade
The Prodigal Son
The master came and announced parables for the people to hear and told
The story of a father full of love
Two good sons, a happy home
They lived in peace until the youngest
Asked for his inheritance and left
He headed far away and, among delights, wasted his goods
Abandoned, feeling hungry, he remembered home
In his father's house there is bread to spare and I perish in pain
I will rise and go to my father
And I will say to him: I have sinned against you
I will rise and ask him
Make me a servant of yours
The young man set out to walk and still far from his home
The father saw him, tired and sad, returning
Full of love and compassion, he ran to his son and kissed him
Joyfully he went out happy to celebrate
New sandals, clothes, and rings, he offered him
And joyfully exclaimed: My son is reborn!
He was lost, but now he is found, my son is reborn!
I will rise and go to my father
And I will say to him: I have sinned against you
I will rise and ask him
Make me a servant, a servant of yours
