My Bike
Life here on Earth goes by so fast
We’re just pedaling in place, side by side
But it’s a crazy ride, it’s getting more absurd
And I’m riding my bike through this busy traffic.
On my bike, pedal pedal pedal
It’s not super fast, but still quick enough
For sweating, I’ve got a dry rag
And against the rain, I’ve got my silly hat.
I know that a bike isn’t held in high regard
Because a car is fancier and goes much faster
But with all that speed, you gain nothing
When you’re stuck in traffic with your car.
On my bike, pedal pedal pedal
It’s not super fast, but still quick enough
For sweating, I’ve got a dry rag
And against the rain, I’ve got my silly hat.
When you ride through the city, wherever you go
Here you can’t get through, there’s another sign
Where you can’t get through with a car
I’ve never had to take many detours on my bike.
On my bike, pedal pedal pedal
It’s not super fast, but still quick enough
For sweating, I’ve got a dry rag
And against the rain, I’ve got my silly hat.
An old Chinese guy told me the other day
That our soul moves at the pace of a mule
And that our hectic life doesn’t do us any favors
Because our own soul travels at its own pace.
On my bike, pedal pedal pedal
It’s not super fast, but still quick enough
For sweating, I’ve got a dry rag
And against the rain, I’ve got my silly hat.
Life is fleeting, gone in a breath
We rush by car, flying through the air
It all has to go fast, we don’t have time
Who knows, maybe we’re losing a bit of our own soul along the way.
