ALLÁ SE QUEDÓ
Willy Chirino
THERE IT STAYED
There it stayed
A beautiful landscape, a piece of my heart stayed
There it stayed
Everything I want under the same sky of Moon and Sun
There it stayed
The baptismal certificate, the memory of school
The church bells where my grandmother accompanied me
The first love I had that I will never forget
Still marked on an old calendar
Childhood friends I played ball with
Friends and the fields of my beautiful land
There it stayed
Arrived at night to remember and walk your streets again
I feel what I can't erase within my soul
Sometimes I compare and what's here
Nothing is the same, only a testament filled with nostalgia
There it stayed
My old lady stayed
My old man stayed
My beautiful girl
The little house I had
My best friend
Also stayed my sister
The beauty of my land
Sadly stayed my dog and stayed
Where? Where? There it stayed
Today my thoughts fly further
Like the great absent one in solitude
And as time passes, I see old longings pass by
And in a long dream upon waking each day, I miss my land more
I wonder how long I will spend far from my homeland
There it stayed
My old lady stayed
My old man stayed
My dear brother
The neighbor girl next door
My life stayed
The memory of my school
And the love of my loves
Everything I had there stayed
No evil lasts a hundred years nor body that can resist it
I will return to my land, I swear by the little virgin
