La Gran Montaña
Xoel López
The Great Mountain
Crossed the sea of doubts
And of memories
A downpour emerged
That turned his pain into faith
He ripped off the devil's mask
Pretending he was dead
And under the black sky
He plucked a daisy
He saw a beautiful castle
At the end of his path
And he crossed the forest
Amidst fog and frustration
Then he approached its door
Just to see what happens
But it was upon entering that he realized
He had come home
He tore off one by one
The leeches from his flesh
He bathed in his own tears
To cleanse his pain
He felt his body cold
And soaked to the bone
And under the black sky
A candle was lit
He saw a beautiful castle
At the end of his path
And he crossed the forest
Amidst fog and frustration
Then he approached its door
Just to see what happens
But it was upon entering that he realized
He had come home
He felt his body cold
And soaked to the bone
And one white morning
The black sky vanished
He saw a beautiful castle...
