Salesman's Loneliness
Tatsuro Yamashita
Salesman's Loneliness
At the hamburger shop
Sitting alone in a small booth
Absentmindedly staring outside
On the other side of the street
A flashy billboard
Someone unknown is laughing
Why is this town
Playing with my heart
Pain and loneliness
Can only be seen as dependence
The loneliness of summer
The rose-colored future
Might not come here
No one walking this town
Seems happy
But to give up
Would be too soon
Not even a single smile to hold
In the cold coffee
Sweat dripping
The scorching afternoon screams
You stand up
Push the door open
Start walking
Into the midsummer picture
