El Jefe

The Boss
Today wasn't my day, things went wrong for me
I hit my boss for not showing respect, you see
I understand there's work and a paycheck to earn
But if he's abusive, he must learn
Why doesn't he respect
An employee in need who has met his goals, correct
An exemplary person, always on time to clock in
Who prefers to climb the ladder, that's his spin
A person in the company, always on the go
Because slave drivers are the ones with the most dough
They want their employees to run like athletes, you know
But when payday comes, it's always a low blow
He's a scrooge who doesn't even give a gift basket at Christmas
Trading years of experience for just a pretty miss
Harassing and ogling the staff indiscreetly
Thinks the union is worse than the ETA, completely
He's a lucky jerk because he's illiterate
Thinks he's better than others with his wealth and car fleet
I'm very polite, put up with his tantrums a lot
One day, he humiliated me, then challenged me, what a clot
What a poor cookie
Today wasn't my day, things went wrong for me
I hit my boss for not showing respect, you see
I understand there's work and a paycheck to earn
But if he's abusive, he must learn
I won't submit, I'll always defend
I wasn't born for this job, I'll make amends
Today I'll quit, they have to earn my respect
I plan to grow, my skills I'll perfect
It's sad to offer knowledge
And be in a place where they want to impose bondage
I won't enrich those who think they're masters and belittle
Can't even hit a nail, yet they always twinkle
They look so fancy in their designer clothes
But deep down, they're more lowly than sewer rats, it shows
In all I do, I've always wanted to lead
Doesn't mean I'll trip up my team, indeed
In my neighborhood, I learned that a man is killed, not humiliated
I know it's a need, but never will I be subjugated
