Candy

Candy
It was a mundane event on a clear afternoon
During an art class, when I was painting a landscape
Someone laughed and said it looks like candy
It's true, it doesn't look like paint, someone else laughed
The brush was offered to my lips
Come on, give it a taste, the girl laughed
I knew it would hurt less to comply than to resist
I knew, I knew
I vowed to become a resilient person
I never wanted to humiliate anyone
If those people are right, I'll be the enemy of the world
What does love taste like?
What shape does friendship take?
I won't forget the taste of the candy offered to me every day
It was an event during a rainy evening
When I opened the umbrella I cherished on my way home
My mother bought it so I could enjoy rainy days
It had a large print of my favorite character
Hit by a tree branch, it was riddled with holes
They laughed, saying it suited me better
Not wanting to see more harm done
I laughed too, I laughed
To not be tainted by the color of hatred
To not become a foolish adult
No matter what those people did, I never retaliated
I buried the umbrella in the riverbank soil
I pretended it was lost and carried away
Every day, I shared imaginary events with my family and we laughed
Yet the world kept spinning
Everything becomes the past
I learned that tears and even that pain can be forgotten to the point of fear
I vowed to live cunningly
This is a song to break the cycle
If it's considered just to corner and take away, I'll be the enemy of the world
What does love taste like?
What shape does friendship take?
I won't forget the taste of the candy offered to me every day
