Olhos de Jardineiro
Zé Geraldo
Gardener's Eyes
To wait
is to believe
Life taught me to wait
How many times I wanted
to have a garden to give you
When I had the land
I lacked the seed
When I had the seed
the heavy rain came
and washed everything away
And to complicate things
I walked on winding paths
It was hard to come back
We had stormy nights
And on stormy nights
the day takes long to come
And it was like that
Luckily, from all these years
we kept remains of dreams
Doodles, pieces of verses
Beds of our garden
Come see
Spring bloomed
May flower is so beautiful
It's not even April yet
Eleven shameless hours
shine everywhere
Passionate hummingbird comes to kiss every day
and count the buds
that still need to bloom
And go in search
of other flowers
in other gardens
I've been with other flowers
in other gardens
Today I'm here
to water you
to protect you from the winds
to take care of you
to serve you
for whatever
The gardener's eyes
are the ones that open the flower bud
