O Peido da Doida
Zé Pinguelo
The Crazy Woman's Fart
Another night in Bacabal
Last February
She let out such a damn fart
That shook the city
The lion broke the cage
Got out and ran
The sun disappeared
The moon stopped
All because
Of the fart the crazy woman let out
Father Baltazar
Was celebrating mass
When he felt the stench
He left the altar
Stores and bars closed
The city rotted
The city hall understood
That there was a need
To declare a state of emergency
Because of the fart the crazy woman let out
Doctor José Aurora
Was the police chief
He was so distressed
That he ran immediately
He kicked the prisoners out
Then disappeared
Sergeant, corporal, and soldier
Almost died of poisoning
From the fart the crazy woman let out
At São Vicente Hospital
The doctor was distressed
Every hour a car arrived
With sick people
Attending so many people
The doctor fell ill
The ward filled up
Even injections didn't help
To stop the effect
Of the fart the crazy woman let out
Flowers and plants withered
The shops also closed
By order of the city hall
A sugarcane mill
That day didn't even grind
Everyone ran from there
Covering their noses
It was an awful stench
From the fart the crazy woman let out
The city was full
With five thousand vultures
Water was scarce, electricity too
Things got ugly
With five and a half leagues
Many people fell ill
The weak ones died
Desperation was high
They could barely stand the stench
Of the fart the crazy woman let out
They hunted down the damn woman
To conduct a study
But seeing all that
She ran off
Into the dense forest
And never appeared again
The city darkened
The earth trembled
It still stinks today
From the fart the crazy woman let out.
