My God, what an unmatched love!
To send your own son
To suffer all alone
Hours of unimaginable pain
A sad and deplorable scene
But what salvation was given!
This image in our minds
Must be unforgettable like the radiant light of Jesus
Who gave himself for all sinners!
Holy, unblemished body that was mutilated for us
Like a lamb that didn’t complain
A fountain of this being sprang forth
That brings peace and sweet love!
My God, oh forgive the great wrongs
Of those who condemned your beloved son
Without any guilt
Marks that remained on his holy hands
That prove with certainty
The great cost of forgiveness!
