Right-hand man of the king, highly esteemed by him
In that distant era, Christians were condemned
If they believed in God, they were immediately sacrificed
The king ordered their arrest and their day was marked
They were taken to the arena and devoured by lions
That heartless king, executioner of the Roman empire
Did not believe in God, he was wicked and profane
Always telling everyone that he had power over humans
That the only God on earth was him, the sovereign king

God in heaven from the heights seeing so much ingratitude
Sent this message to the soldier Sebastian
To protect the poor, all who were Christian
To fight the tyrant king, a bad man without religion

From that moment on, Sebastian transformed
He worshipped the God of heaven who entrusted him with the mission
But the king, knowing this, condemned him out of vengeance
The soldier Sebastian who dedicated himself to God

Almost crazy with rage, the accursed king spoke to him
I am God here on earth, I believe in nothing else
Sebastian replied with his eyes on the infinite
There is only one God in the world, our Lord Jesus Christ

For the answer he gave, he was tied to a stake
And his almost naked body was pierced by arrows
Today he is a miraculous saint, glorified by God
Known throughout the world, blessed Saint Sebastian
